Dealing with peer pressure and other childhood challenges: "Hey, I'm okay! Don't worry about me." Growing up is not easy. Most grown-ups can attest to that fact. Even "normal," well-adjusted young people have difficulties such as peer pressure to overcome. There is simply no such thing as a young person without issues.
Every Young Person Has Challenges, Ages 8-12. A group of 15 candid young people reveals their challenges and difficulties through their own eyes and in their own words, and share the steps they've taken towards resolving these issues. In doing so, they help us to discover the truth that every young person does have difficulties and challenges; that "you are not the only one" who is dealing with peer pressure, personal issues and inner conflict; and that growth is a matter of facing our challenges and difficulties, understanding them and doing our best to overcome, resolve and come to peace with them. Issues presented include divorce, family issues, peer pressure, bullying, discrimination, popularity issues, parental drug abuse, dealing with serious illness and death and others.

In watching what these candid young participants reveal about themselves, we come to understand that part of resolving personal issues stems, first, from understanding them, and then trying new behaviors, new strategies and new ways of looking at our challenges. Innovation is one of the greatest keys in dealing with personal issues, and watching our young participants explore their issues is a lesson in innovation. As we come to appreciate the steps that our young guests have taken in dealing with their difficulties, we are encouraged to take a more active role in facing our own challenges. The program concludes with words of advice from our participating young people.
